Talents and Admirers (Miss Militia 2008)

On the 7th of March a memorable event took place on the stage of the Kirov Regional Philharmonic Society - the 10th anniversary contest called “Miss Militia 2008”. The 1st such contest took place in Kirov exactly 10 years ago. The basis of it were numerous beauty contests which took place in various cities of Russia by the example of such world-famous shows as “Miss of the World”, “Miss of the Universe”, “Miss of America”. These shows always draw attention of the audience all over the world, particular countries and nations. In 1998 officers of UVD (Department of Home Affairs) of Kirov region Marat Epshtein and Anton Kozyrev  suggested the idea to carry out the contest, which became later traditional among militiawomen  of UVD. They also thought that in such a contest women should not only demonstrate their beauty and charm but also contribute to the growth of professional mastery, moral education of the staff of the Department of Home Affairs, increase of the role of amateur performance, creation in education of militiamen, improvement of leisure time of the personnel. Organizers of the contest worked out Regulations about conducting the contest, which were approved by the order of the head of UVD of Kirov region. The Regulations consist of 2 basic stages. The first stage includes elements which give participants a possibility to demonstrate their professional and sport mastery. Women should demonstrate how well they shoot, disassemble and assemble weapon, how quickly they run.
In the second stage of the contest participants display their creative talents. During accomplishment of 3 different tasks women have the possibility to demonstrate their appearance, creative abilities, and abilities to sing, dance or play a musical instrument.
The first task of this stage is called “A Visiting Card”. It includes performance of participants on the stage in uniform of the staff of The Department of Home Affairs. During 3 minutes a woman should tell a short story about herself, her place of service and her duties.
The second task is called “Talents”. It includes performance of participants an item of artistic character: a song, a dance, a verse, a musical composition in duration of not more than 5 minutes. At the same time women are allowed to improvise on the stage and play small performances with the help of their friends.
The third task is called “Grace”. It includes demonstration of an evening dress to the sounds of music.
Participants should show high professional mastery, novelty, originality, humor and artistry in accomplishing the tasks.
Results of the contest are estimated depending on the quantity of points gathered by each participant.
And on the 6th March 2008 there was the 1 st day of the contest. 12 women from different subdivisions of the Department of Home Affairs, who eagerly prepared for this performance during a month, gathered at the firing line to demonstrate their abilities in aimed firing a pistol of the system “Makarov”. Participant number 7 Tatiana Pasynkova had the best result, she had 30 points of 30 possible.
In the first day of the contest Elena Neustroeva, Tatiana Pasynkova, Olga Chashechnikova and Tatiana Nikolova were in advance in competitions of dissembling and assembling a pistol and short-distance race.
The second stage of the contest “Miss Militia” took place on the 7th of March on the eve of the International Women Day. The hall of the Kirov Regional Philharmonic was cram-ful. And during 3 hours participants of the contest demonstrated their talents, beauty, charm, love of music, poetry, dances.
At end of the contest heads of those subdivisions of Organs of Home Affairs in which participants of the contest serve, presented women flowers and gifts. Here on the stage the Kirov regional subdivision of the International Police Association presented Tatiana Pasynkova a certificate of a member of the International Police Association and a coffee service.
The strict and competent jury summed up. The jury consisted of the following members: one of the heads of UVD, employees of institutions of culture and mass media and a businessman. The chairman of the jury, the deputy chief of UVD Gennady Tselishev announced the results of the contest. Elena Korotovskaya, an inspector of the State Inspectorate of Road Traffic Safety was awarded the title “The most charming”. Oksana Paul, a militia lieutenant from town Sanchursk, was considered to be “The most Gracious”. The title “The Most Professional” was awarded to Tatiana Nilova, an employee of the Department of Home Affairs of town Slobodskoi.
An in the nomination “The most artistic” the undoubted winner was Ekaterina Ziteva, an employee of the Criminal Investigation Department.
But the main intrigue still remained undisclosed. And when the chairman of the jury Gennady Tselishev asked the audience: “Who is the winner in the main nomination “Miss Militia 2008?”, most of the audience cried from the auditorium: “Tatiana Pasynkova!” And as if he agreed with the opinion of the audience Gennady Tselishev announced results of counting the points, made by the jury. As a result of 2 days of competitions the title “Miss Militia 2008” was awarded in a difficult struggle to Tatiana Pasynkova, a militia lieutenant. The chairman of the jury solemnly put a beautiful crown on the head of the new Miss Militia and announced that the winner of this grand show will also get a premium and a free ticket for a group tour at the Black Sea. After these words fans of the winners rushed to the stage to congratulate the participants with the successful end of the contest.
